What it is

HWSolved is a Chrome extension that provides AI assistance on coursework questions. You open it on a page you are already signed into, and it reads the question in context, works through it, and returns an answer together with the reasoning. The reasoning is the point. An answer you cannot follow is no use to you the week of the exam.

Platforms

Purpose-built support covers McGraw Hill Connect and SmartBook, Canvas LMS, ALEKS, Pearson MyLab and Mastering, Edgenuity, Knewton Alta, Wiley, Coursera and Quizizz. Snap AI covers everything outside that list: a keyboard shortcut, crop the question, and it reads the image. That is what handles PDFs, scanned worksheets and any platform without dedicated support.

Question types

Multi-part questions are handled as a unit, so a later step that depends on an earlier answer is worked in context rather than in isolation.

Accuracy

First-pass accuracy runs roughly 75 to 85 percent depending on subject and question type. Definitions and vocabulary land near the top of that range. Multi-step calculation and anything leaning on a complex figure land nearer the bottom. We publish the range rather than a rounder number because you will find out the real figure in week two regardless.

The Smart Cache stores answers you have confirmed correct, so repeat questions on a second attempt or a revision pass return immediately. On Elite, the Answer Pool draws on questions other users have already verified, which helps most on widely used course material.

Where it falls short

Being direct about this is more useful than a list of strengths. Accuracy on hard multi-step maths is the weakest area. Anything requiring you to physically draw a graph, record audio, or work through an interactive simulation is not something the tool can hand you. Support runs through Discord rather than a staffed helpdesk, which suits some people and not others. And it is Chrome only.

Who it suits

It suits students carrying a heavy load of routine graded coursework across several platforms who want assistance and an explanation on the question in front of them. It does not suit anyone looking for a free option, and it is not a substitute for learning material you will be examined on without it.
