Set up HWSolved 1PC Lockdown

1. Open the license key email you received after purchasing.
2. Click the Download & Setup link in the email. Your key is already filled in.
3. On the download page, click Download. The file saves to your Downloads folder.

Lost the email? Go to api.hwsolved.net/1pc-launcher and enter your key manually.

1. Find the downloaded file in your Downloads folder.
2. If it is a .zip, right-click it and choose Extract All.
3. Move the file to somewhere permanent: your Desktop or Documents folder.

There is no installer wizard. The file is the entire program. Keep it somewhere you will not accidentally delete.

1. Double-click the software to open it.
2. It automatically opens an activation page in your browser with your PC's unique ID.
3. Enter your license key on the activation page and click Activate.
4. The software detects activation within a few seconds and launches the overlay.

Activation ties the key to this one PC. It cannot be activated from a browser alone because the software provides the PC identifier. Your subscription renews monthly; the key stays valid as long as the subscription is active.

The software runs an AI overlay on top of your screen. These hotkeys control it:

  Toggle overlayShow or hide the AI panel

  Screenshot solveSame as F2, using the middle mouse button
• ENTER
  Send questionType a question in the overlay, press Enter

1. Restart your PC before opening the software for the first time, and before each exam. A fresh restart makes sure no leftover processes interfere.
2. Open the software before starting your exam. It stays running in the background.
3. The software auto-detects proctoring tools: Respondus LockDown Browser, ExamSoft / Examplify, Honorlock, ProctorU, Proctorio, and Secure Exam Browser.
4. Press F2 to screenshot the exam question. The AI reads it and returns the answer in the overlay.
5. Or press INSERT to open the overlay and type a question manually.

The overlay is invisible to screen capture and recording software. Proctoring tools cannot see it.

• "Key not found"Check the key against your email, including the dashes. Keys never contain the letters O or I, or the digits 0 or 1.
• "Key already in use"Each key binds to one PC. To move it, open a support ticket on Discord.
• "Subscription expired"Your monthly subscription has lapsed. Resubscribe at hwsolved.net/lockdown to get a new key.
• Software won't openTry running it as Administrator (right-click, Run as administrator). Check that your antivirus is not blocking it. Add an exception for the file if needed.
• "AI unavailable"Check your internet connection and try again in a moment. The AI needs an active connection to work.
• Overlay not appearingPress INSERT to toggle it. If nothing happens, restart the software.

• Can I use this on two PCs?No. One key locks to one PC. Buy a second key for a second machine, or get the DMA Bundle for a multi-PC setup.
• Does it work with Respondus LockDown Browser?Yes. The software bypasses it. It also works with ExamSoft, Honorlock, ProctorU, Proctorio, and Secure Exam Browser.
• Can my school see it?No. The overlay is invisible to screen capture, screen recording, and proctoring detection.
• How do I cancel?Use the billing portal link in your receipt or renewal email. You can also open a support ticket on Discord.
• What if I get a new PC?Open a support ticket on Discord and we will unbind the key so you can activate on the new machine.
• Does the software update automatically?Yes. On each launch it checks for updates and installs them before starting.
